“Project delivery best practices indicate business and technology teams must rely on their Center of Excellence (COE) to deliver successful projects. Pega projects are no different, meaning a Pega COE group within a company needs to empower business users to get the most out of the Pega platform through defined standards, best practices, and processes.”
– Amit Yadav, COO at Rules Cube
Rules Cube offers an accelerated COE Enablement Program designed to rapidly aid in setting up a Pega COE (Center of Excellence) in the organization. With numerous previous engagements guiding different companies with their Pega journey, Rules Cube designs a customized program to help its clients define a COE structure, ramp up their COE, and become self-sufficient. Our consultants work alongside the clients’ internal COE team to enable them to guide existing and upcoming Pega projects. With a self-directing entity responsible for overseeing and supporting Pega projects across the organization, formalizing a COE is key to successfully achieving transformational goals.
Rules Cube’s COE enablement program focuses on the following areas:
COE Structure
Project Governance
Knowledge Sharing
Reusable Components
Performance Measurement
As a first step, Rules Cube helps clients establish the foundation of their COE by defining its vision and approach. This includes setting objectives and a roadmap through assessing business needs, evaluating current processes, and devising a “Go-Forward” plan. We understand our clients’ future requirements and assist in creating a COE Structure that helps them focus on and meet their short- and long-term goals.
Depending on our clients’ COE structure, we assist in defining roles and responsibilities required to carry out Pega Projects. Usually, teams can fall under four categories: COE Leadership, COE Core Team, COE Extended Team, and Project Team(s). By creating a tailored governance model, we ensure our clients know how to oversee, govern, and successfully execute Pega Projects.
Throughout the program journey, Rules Cube’s consultants assume membership of the clients’ Pega COE team and perform activities while coaching and transferring knowledge to the COE members. Eventually, our goal is to enable the COE to understand how to best deliver Pega applications across the organization and share their knowledge with other teams or business units.
In the initial phase, our consultants assist in defining the Pega standards and best practices that the COE will promote to ensure consistent delivery of well-formed applications. In order to increase efficiency and cut costs, we educate the COE team members on developing templates for standard procedures, processes, and a delivery methodology that aligns with the company’s structure, resources, and needs.
As part of our commitment to quality, Rules Cube assists in creating KPI metrics to measure project performance and providing application health checks to assess delivery execution. Our final goal is to empower our clients’ COE to understand whether they are utilizing the Pega platform efficiently and make decisions to further improve their ROI.
